Stephen L. Jacques received his undergraduate degree from California State University at Northridge in 1970 and, thereafter, majored in journalism at Webber-Douglas Academy in London.   Following a 10-year career as an international photojournalist in England, France and the former Soviet Union, he obtained his law degree from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles and was admitted to the California Bar in 1983.   In 1990, he relocated to Connecticut and in 1996 became a partner of Moore, O'Brien, Jacques & Yelenak in Cheshire, CT, limiting his practice to personal injury, with an emphasis in medical malpractice.  He is admitted to the Bars of Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and California.

            Mr. Jacques is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, a national trial bar organization in which membership is by invitation only and limited to the top trial lawyers in the State based upon their trial experience and ability.   He is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association and a former Board of Governors member of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association and former editor of that organization's monthly publication. 

            Mr. Jacques is also a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association.  In Los Angeles, where Mr. Jacques practiced for seven years, he specialized in products liability and represented catastrophically injured victims in cases against General Motors, Ford, Honda and Chrysler.  In 2000, he was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.

            Since 1988 Mr. Jacques has represented plaintiff's in aviation litigation, including the victims of the ValuJet crash in Florida, the TWA Flight 800 disaster off Long Island and the Alaska Airlines crash off the coast of California in 2000.
