Joseph D. Foti, Jr. was admitted to the State of Connecticut Superior Court  in 1985 and the Federal Court in 1986.  He graduated from the University of Connecticut in 1982 and attended Loyola University School of Law and Western New England College School of Law where he graduated in 1985.

Mr. Foti was a legislative intern for the United States House of Representatives in Washington D.C. where he worked primarily on drafting proposed legislation.  Prior to joining the law firm of Moore, O?Brien, Jacques and Yelenak, Mr. Foti was a partner in the law firm of Garbacik, Denorfia Foti, and Forgione where he focused on personal injury, criminal, family and bankruptcy law.  Mr. Foti has also served as Assistant to the corporation Counsel for the City of Waterbury where he served as the police legal adviser for 7 years.  While police legal adviser, Mr. Foti wrote police policies and trained police personnel in the areas of police pursuits, use of deadly force, Constitutional issues, and was active in the re-certification process for  the City?s police force. He also was called upon to train and participate in the re-certification of neighboring police departments.  He was certified by the Connecticut State Police as a Municipal Police trainer.

Mr. Foti is certified as a civil trial advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy and has successfully completed the requirements of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy for litigation.  He is a member of the Connecticut Bar Association, The Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association, and the Waterbury County Bar Association.  Mr. Foti limits his practice to personal injury litigation in both the State and Federal courts.
